Visual appeal is highly important and as Instagram is the most visual platform, it’s a no brainer that it is a key platform for Interior Businesses.

These days our attention spams are short, we consume everything so quickly, so your brand imagery on Instagram has to make an impact! It has to make people stop their scroll. Your potential on Instagram is HUGE but do not worry, I am going to give you some tips to help you get some attention!

Using Instagram for interior business gives you the opportunity to display your products or services, showcase your process and tell your brand story. It allows you to keep an eye on your competition, make your impact and speak directly to your customer.

Your customers are willing to spend a substantial amount of money and in exchange they require information to minimise the perceived risks of handing over their hard earned cash. Therefore, it is key to build trust and eventually convert leads. Instagram for a business, when executed well, can become a powerful marketing tool in building your brand awareness and nurturing your potential clients.

First up, you need to make sure that your Instagram bio puts your best foot forward AND tells people who you are and what you do - quickly! You have limited characters after all(only 150). If you have won awards make sure these are included!

Next up is the content that goes along with your beautiful imagery / video / reel / IGTV. Instagram is a visual platform however, content give you an opportunity to speak directly to your audience, allowing you to inspire, entertain, educate and engage. Tell your brand story and ultimately answer the question your audience will always have: ‘Why should I choose you?’

You only have 125 characters to make an impact!

This is the maximum length that shows up in people’s feeds until they decide to click and read more. Therefore, you NEED to capture their attention straight away. This is called ‘The Hook’ and it means exactly that - you need to hook them in!

Not knowing what to write for your Instagram content is something I get asked all the time.

Depending on what type of image / video you are releasing, some of them will nearly write their own caption as they could have an interesting story behind them - tell your audience this story.

Sharing interior insider tips with your followers is always a winner, with these tips you are providing your audience value. You are the expert - you need to showcase that!

Some Instagram captions you will want to be short and sweet. Simply sharing why you like the particular picture you are sharing, client feedback or a on-brand comment which makes your clients smile can work really well.

The body of the content should be structured in short paragraphs, makes it so much easier for people to read. At the end include a short ‘call-to-action’ (CTA). Here, you can tell your audience what you want them to do next. Keep it short and simple.

Instagram offers you an option to tag people/brands and location so use them. This allows you to further the reach of your post and share it among the interior images taken in the same location or with the same people. Where possible tagging any other brands in your posts (please make sure they are relevant!) is key and can work extremely well for getting your post viewed and engaged with as many people as possible.

If you are still stuck for ideas think about telling your audience;

What is it that your interior business does?

Do you manufacture goods?

Do you provide a service?

Design homes?

Think of different ways your interior product or services can be shown. Some ideas for you here;

Interior Symmetry - everyone loves symmetry!

Focus on the interior product/service you offer

Focus on the detail of a particular product or service

Show your process

Show the people who make up your brand

I hope these tips help!
