5 Instagram Tips for the Interiors Industry

Social H - Interior Marketing

Are you  struggling to grow or attract the right audience for your Business over on instagram?

Are you posting but struggling to get that all important engagement on your page?

Are you unable to make connections and get business from Instagram?

First things first, you need to create YOUR ideal target audience.

An audience filled with your perfect customer!

Don’t know how? Here are my 5 Instagram tips for the Interior industry to help you grow your target audience on Instagram!

Content is king (but the right kind!)

Create content related to your niche that will attract your ideal audience. Content Marketing is all about knowing your audience and creating the right kind of content which will attract them to your showroom / studio / shop.

Yes, you want your Instagram to make you personable, but please don’t fill your business profile with selfies, there are personal profiles for that kind of content! You want to use your Business profile to attract Business, therefore it has to be professional!

One of the key Instagram tips for the interiors industry is to create content that informs or inspires

Remember Instagram provides you the space to showcase how YOU are the expert in your industry, to showcase your talents and achievements. Use your captions and imagery to showcase the best of what you can do so that you are positioning yourself as the leader within your industry.

Make sure you are following the right kind of people

If you want your Instagram to focus on bringing you business follow people in your industry. The more you follow people in the Interior industry, the more your posts will show to them too.

Only follow accounts

·       Who you could do business with either as your client or their customer

·       That your ideal clients would follow

·       That inspire and inform you

The Instagram algorithm works with connections between you and the accounts it thinks you should be connected with so make sure you tell it where you want to be seen.

If you’re only interacting with your friends and family, you’re unlikely to gain any traction and visibility in the space where you’d really like to get seen. Again, do all your socialising over on your personal profile!

Hashtags, Hashtags, Hashtags

Using hashtags boosts your visibility on the platform.

Make sure the hashtags you use are relevant and active.

There’s no one size fits all solution for hashtags. The right hashtags to use will depend on lots of different factors including your design niche, location and your number of followers. So spend some time figuring yours out and see how this helps your growth on Instagram!

Turn your Followers into a Community

In my opinion not making a connection and nurturing your followers on Instagram is like ignoring potential clients when they come into your showroom – you wouldn’t do it there, so don’t do it on Instagram!

Engage with them.

Reply to their comments.

Reply to their DM’s.

Start conversations with them and create your very own little community on Instagram that will work harder for you than any influencer can.

Engagement is key!

Don’t just post and think your work is done.

A big mistake I see a lot of people making is just posting pictures then walking away and waiting for the likes and comments to roll in.

You need to make some time each day to like or comment on other accounts especially if they take time to comment on yours.

The more you give, the more you get. Engage with people in the Interior niche and accounts similar to yours so instagram knows where you want to be seen.
